Terms of Service

1. The service

HTML Editor is a browser-based tool for editing HTML in source and visual views, importing local files, and exporting documents. The current service is provided without accounts, payment, cloud document storage, collaboration, or AI processing. It is a body-fragment editor, not a complete website execution or hosting environment.

2. Responsible use

Use the service only in accordance with applicable law. You must have the rights and permissions needed for the content you edit. Do not infringe intellectual property or privacy rights, distribute malicious content, interfere with the service, attempt unauthorized access, or use the service to facilitate abuse.

3. Your content and our software

You retain your rights in your documents. Coffee Coding does not claim ownership of them, and using the editor does not grant us a license to publish or train AI on them. Editing and local saving do not upload your documents to us.

The service and its branding remain subject to their respective owners' rights. Third-party software, fonts, and sample assets remain governed by their own licenses. See the third-party notices (opens in a new tab) distributed with production builds. These Terms do not restrict rights granted by applicable open-source licenses.

4. Local storage and backups

Documents are saved in the current browser profile on your device. Closing a document tab does not delete its saved document. Browser settings, private browsing, storage limits, browser cleanup, device loss, or a change of site address may make documents unavailable. Autosave can fail; review the save and conflict indicators and download important work. We cannot recover documents stored only on your device.

5. HTML, exports, and external resources

Visual editing and Safe HTML export remove unsupported or active content, which can change formatting or markup. Original source exports preserve the source, including scripts or other unsafe content. Review exports before publishing, and do not open untrusted source exports as websites. Sanitization is a precaution, not a guarantee that every document is safe for every use.

External images are blocked by default. Enabling them allows requests to their original servers. Third-party sites and resources are outside our control and have their own terms and privacy practices.

6. Availability and limitations

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, fitness for a particular purpose, or complete preservation of your work. We may maintain, change, or discontinue features. Where reasonably practicable, we will give advance notice of material changes or discontinuation.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Coffee Coding is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the service. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, or gross negligence where applicable, or limits mandatory consumer rights.

7. Stopping use and changes to these Terms

You may stop using the service at any time. Export any documents you wish to keep before clearing browser data. We may restrict access to protect the service or address unlawful or abusive use, subject to applicable law.

Updated Terms will be published at this address with a revised date. Material changes will be identified on this page before they take effect where reasonably practicable; additional notice or consent will be provided where required by law. Changes do not remove rights that have already accrued.
